Acuity turned to StudioHawk after realizing that all of their site's traffic was being driven by blogs and top of funnel informational searches around tax season. They were not competitive in the local area for any of their services or industry specializations. Through a targeted content approach updating all of their main commercially-driven pages and effective targeted link acquisition, we were able to boost their visibility to get them in front of people who would more likely turn into leads.
Acuity approached StudioHawk after finding that the majority of their site's traffic was driven by seasonal blogs around tax season. While this was good while traffic was up, the majority of this intent was informational and they were not generating leads directly through their site. They wanted to better leverage their main service page i.e. "Bookkeeping" as well as their key locations, to improve their visibility and drive leads.
Following an initial SEO audit, we identified that Acuity needed to build on the following:
1. Thin content on service pages without much targeting.
2. Lots of underperforming location pages stretching the brand too thin.
3. Lack of authority targeted towards their main service pages.
4. Speed & performance of the site was poor.
To address these challenges, we implemented a phased strategy focused on reoptimizing the site's content, improving core locations and driving authority.
- Technical SEO Audit to identify the issues with core web vitals and site speed on the site. This also highlighted other opportunities like unoptimized page titles and meta descriptions as well as a lack of internal linking.
- Improve Service Page Content to better optimize each of their pages, extend the amount of content on the pages and build out unique FAQs.
- Build Out Location Pages targeting different "accountant in [location]" based terms.
A major challenge for this campaign is the competitiveness of the niche. There are over 200 bookkeeping firms in Metro Atlanta alone, excluding wider parts of the city, meaning we had to be very specific to the niches that Acuity operated in. We helped them to better compete by building out unique industry page content across SaaS, eCommerce, Creative Agencies, Medical Practices, Family Offices and Cryptocurrency which were based on their core client base.
