SEO That Worked Overtime For Outsource Access
Outsource Access is an award winning outsourcing company and virtual assistant provider, offering custom, cost-effective virtual staffing and business process outsourcing solutions across a range of roles and industries. They approached StudioHawk after not having much of an online presence outside of their brand and with the intent on scaling their unbranded visibility.
Outsource Access approached StudioHawk to elevate their online presence and organic performance.
Their key objectives included:
1. Increase their inbound leads for virtual assistant staffing.
2. Improve their organic visibility in search results.
3. Resolve a series of technical SEO issues that were holding back the site.
There was a lot of opportunity to encroach into competitor's market space and solidify Outsource Access as the go-to virtual assistant provider.
Following an initial SEO audit, we identified a number of key areas to address:
1. Improve optimizations for service pages and building out unique content away from the templated copy the site already had.
2. Begin implementing technical fixes to improve their site health, including crawlability, indexability, internal linking, page speed and experience.
3. Increase the site's authority with targeted link acquisition.
By strategically focusing first and foremost on the quick win opportunities in Accounting, Healthcare, Sales Acceleration & Real Estate we were able to prove out our strategy effectiveness before rolling this out to other areas of the site.
To improve the site's overall visibility in line with the plan we:
Addressed technical health concerns - by tackling URL cannibalization, meta data fixes, reviewing schema, fixing broken links, optimizing the website's navigation bar, and assisting with the website migration tasks as they updated designs.
Optimized "Industry" specific pages - Focusing on their primary service areas: Accounting, Healthcare, Sales, Insurance, Real Estate.
Optimized "Role" related pages - to better target more niche, role-specific queries like "Executive Assistants", "Social Media Specilaists", "Accounting Specialists" and "HR Specialists".
Optimized "Software" related pages - to compound this strategy further, building out specific software landing pages and supporting content for types of software used in specific industries i.e. Restaurant365 used in the restaurant industry. This allowed us to capture lower volume but higher intent keywords.
A major challenge for this campaign was that the majority of the site was templated and there were are a large number of similar pages causing cannibalization issues. We needed to take a punt and redirect these cannibalizing URLs even when they were in some instances driving some low levels of traffic and reworking the site architecture to future proof the site. We saw a significant drop in keyword visibility once this had happened which did not recover immediately, but with more content updates and authority building, Google eventually understood the new structure and rewarded us significantly as a result of the change.
